Desksense do not belong from Microsoft

Hi to all Desksense users, hope all is going well with you guys. After quite a long time I decided to have a check on how my users are doing with the product. Its really great to find that all in all is going fine, with the product giving full satisfaction to the users.

As all the users who are in constant touch with us knows, through what hardship we had launched Desksense, and its a privilege to be part of such a product. The feedback had been tremendously good. But, just recently I got a number of queries, people asking me are you a branch office of Microsoft? or rather are you a Microsoft Partner or whether Desksense is just another product of Microsoft ?

I guess it is because of the logo that we have at the top middle panel of our desksense homepage (Like the One here). Well Guys, we are just one of the million Microsoft certified Partners (which is just nothing more than a business listing with Microsoft ). So, please guys its a strict no no, we are not associated with Microsoft in any other way. Moreover, while clicking on the Microsoft Logo on our homepage at www.desksense.com, you all can come to know thats its not Desksense, but its our company, which as a whole is listed in the business directory of Microsoft. What is Microsoft Certified Partner?
- As Wiki describes: A Microsoft Certified Partner (MCP) is an independent company that provides Microsoft-related products or services.

Microsoft Certified partners provide Microsoft services on behalf of Microsoft worldwide spanning many fields including OEM, Education, Software providers and Technical Support. Microsoft partners also have 24-hour access to Microsoft Support, which enables them to give better customer relations and support to a customer. Every Microsoft Certified Partner has been in business for at least 5 years, has passed several tests, and has proven skills in their particular field. Microsoft rewards these partners with discounts in tools that are applicable to their activities. For example, in the educational field this might take the form of licenses to Microsoft Windows and Microsoft Office.

In return for participation in the program, partners gain support services and tools from Microsoft, often at a significant discount to their face value. However, over the lifetime of the contract some risk is transferred from Microsoft to the MCP in return for the benefits of the association with Microsoft and the ability to sell the support services.

So, please don't take Desksense as a product of Microsoft. Will, wait for all your feedback, till then have a very nice weekend ahead.

Protected Storage wasn't this Safer Ever!!

Protected Storage (Pstore) provides applications with an interface to store user data that must be kept secure or free from modification. With datatypes, PST_ACCESSMODE (Defines the read or write mode of the access rule), PST_ACCESSCLAUSETYPE (Defines the clause type of the access rule) and PST_KEY (Defines the key for the stored item), Protected Storage is the strongest integral part of your computer security system which you would never want any second person to read. It also stores Passwords and Id's from you most used mail websites like Yahoomail, Gmail, MSN or transactional websites like godaddy, ebay or maybe paypal. Now just imagine a second person/s, who knows all these details of yours without your slightest knowledge. Sounds Scary? Your Pstore may look more or less like the pic below.

Any typical virus (or protected password recovery tool) would leak your Pstore information to its creater as simply as shown in the pic above. Just imagine, any other person who knows every damn of how to hack your email, messenger, personal contacts, ph nos, pics and videos and last of all your, business website.

Top Menu "File",
Select "Lock External Devices" (Window Pic)

After much huddles and crossing all barriers we managed to launch Desksense. After the launch too with almost 72 hours of no sleep for all the boys it was really amazing to see they still didnt bother to have a single nap. With the programmers, who are atill busy solving the small intricacies and the designer trying to find out if at all there was something wrong the enthusiasm that was seen after the launch was also unbelieveable.

Now all eyes got stuck to the mailbox to check if anybody downloaded it or not, and if they find none, they land up downloading one for themselves :) ...and with the first download their was a loud applaud as in like after defencing for many balls Saurav Ganguly has a Six, and then it started flowing. Since our launch its been 792 number of downloads till date, with d/l rate going high bit by bit. Anyhow the craze is still up, the mood is ever lighting and the surrounding is just grooving up for the launch of the final version.

The suggetions that we have received are amazing and we wish to receive more like that, to help us improve the product and bring to you the one you wish to have, with the features you require, apart from Folder Security, File Lock, USB Lock or Website Block.

PS: Would it be better, if we go Open Source? Just a crazy thought may be, but your suggestion is all that matters.

Let the Game Begin

Launch of Software had been perennial with us for many days though, never did we seem to be more excited than this. With all set within, for the big launch, within couple of hours from now, I personally could not help myself putting up some screenshots of the software, which are yet to be made public officially.

Our team, no less than a team of stars, and of which I feel very proud to be a part of, every bit of moment now; have not slept for almost 48 hours now, and yet we can see no sign of sleep grasping in our threshold. Watching all this big shots, hot and happenings in such a close proximity has definitely to do something with the matter.

We have got many people asking us about the PR that's allready generated in the market regarding our launch, and we might have annoyed many of them, keeping them waiting for Desksense. To tell you the truth, I personally don't guarantee the authenticity of "waiting is better than the event awaited", and niether do believe in that. Rather with the growing PR, we had to make sure that delusions of grandeur doesn't take over; and it only let us do a re-raincheck on the codes and working parameters of desksense.

Anyways, looking forward to satisfaction of all our users. Looking forward to the big ceremony in a couple of hours.

Story Behind Desksense

Genia (name changed) had enough of the NGO industry. She had some plans for financial betterment of the NGO, she had worked with. But her ideas were put down on the grounds of "Unethical ways" to bring in monetary help. Genia had worked with Purbachal Ananda Foundation (NGO) for years and had been in close touch with maximum donors of the NGO. When she was asked to leave the organization, it was evident to the secretary (Mr. Arin) that she would definitely try to take with her, the copies of all important and lucrative documents. Someone having all the information about donors and their details; even this idea bought the hell out of Mr.Arin.

This is when he came in contact with us, where he asked as something that will help him to drop out Genia, with no fear of his documents getting lost. We gave him Desksense.

Genia's Last day in office: (in words of Mr. Arin)
She was early in office than her normal days. Jotting down all the excel data and the important documents of the organization in a folder is just only a matter of time for her. She knew where's what!! Genia opened IE and opened yahoo. Checking her mails everyday morning was obviously her first job for months. But what's wrong? yahoo did not open. Instead she got a message saying "Desksense has Blocked Yahoo!".

The situation went alarming for her. Now how can she save her documents up in the net? She left Internet Explorer, tried Mozilla, Chrome ... but all in vain. Well, what left with her was, if she can open any other ID in somewhere else. But lolz, Gmail, AOL. MSN, Rediff all e-mail websites wouldn't just open. Niether could she now open any file transfer websites like rapidshare or fileshare!!

No Problem! She opened her drawer and got hold of some blank cds. She put them inside the Cd/Dvd drive and OMG... she couldn't just believe her eyes. The drive wont even show up in her computer. Genia got up.... she though and thought! "yes there's a way", and she dig up her old pen drive and smart card from her purse pocket. "If only I thought of these options before", she murmured while hooking both the devices in her CPU. But no, this was not her day, even those devices won't show up, like the cd/dvd one.

As the clock ticked , Genia could understand very well, that there is nothing she can take out with her. She had no other option than leaving the org with a pale smile goodbye forever.

Just after...

Coderea Technologies is a leading provider of high-end outsourcing services for web site design & development.
